jcb 3cx?

a widow friend has her late husbands 1997 3cx she has the key but no immobiliser key,i have started it but the shuttle drive wont work is it cut by the immobiliser ?can we bypass it?or can she purchase a new one shes desperate to sell as its been stood for 4yrs
