how can I fix my bread maker?

The shaft that turns the paddle on my Oster breadmaker has fallen out.
Is it just an "O"ing that holds it in place or something else?

I don't thinkl so. If it is like my LG breadmaker, when the rubber band that makes it turn snapped, it was cheaper to buy a whole new cookworks breadmaker from argos at about 25 quids than to simply buy the replacement bits for the LG.
So I did, and it's a Cookworks and now the seals have gone on the pan and it leaks until the dough is mixed.

I am hoping that the LG pan will fit when I dig it out of the shed, but think its unlikely. Built in obsolesence.
