Can the alternator/ fan belt be changed by a diy job or is it a garage job, im fairly confident as ive changed the alternator on my wifes Beetle but have never worked on the Ford Galaxy as ive only had it for 2 weeks. Have noticed when turning on the car it squelches for about a second and then normal?

it can be changed by confident diy'er, just make a diagram of how the belt is fitted, but take your time as there is not a lot of room to work in.
