how hard is it to fix the fly wheel on my 55 plate 125t280 transit van?

i paid £1400 for the repair on one of my 125t280 transit vans and now an other has broken down with all the same simptoms, glow plug lights come on and i lose power or engine cuts out, turn off and restart motor and its ok till i put my foot down again. so i know its the dmf fly wheel . im not that stupid and consider myself able with all the tools. is this a hard job to do. £1400 is far to expensive for me so i want to give it a go

do you get a vibration and rumbling noise?remove the starter and if the flywheel is on the way out there will be a lot if fine grey filings in and around the bendix, the faults you are on about dont sound like a flywheel problem and would see about getting it onto a code reader first,if you are sure it is the flywheel you can now get a kit which converts it to a solid unit, whlie you are there it would be false economy not to change the clutch also, good luck.
