help I need this for work?

I have an old compaq presario series 3297 desktop comp.but it wont boot up as soon as i turn it on the compaq sign comes out then a black screen with cursor thats it what do i do to get it to work ?

you can type in the model no. of your pc to see troubleshooting tips or just type in "black screen with blinking cursor" in the search box at top right hand side.

Make sure it is seeing the hard drive in the BIOS. If it is, then try reinstalling Windows.
