Hi, ok parents bought big heavy Leather recliner sofa with recliner chairs last year from harveys the furniture store (? the bel air style on their website) we need to dismantle 1 of the chairs and I'm not sure how to! Apparently it came in 2 parts initially! im puzzled. The leather at the back at the lower section velcros off tho show mechanism but don't want to start unscrewing random bits!!

If you look at the mountings on both sides of the back you will see a small metal lever. Lift this lever and gentle pull one side so it unclips and then do the same the other. Then pull the back up and it will slide out.

We have some heavy leather recliners with velcro on the lower section of the back that I have removed the back from. You may be able to simply pull the back up by standing behind the chair, grabbing the back on both sides and pulling up and slightly toward yourself. It takes a bit of pulling the first time. There are metal bars on either side of the back that fit into brackets on the seat but you can't see them until the back starts coming up. Hope this works for you.
