Nissan garage quoted me £1700 Nov/2010. It's possible to get it done a lot cheaper at your local garage. Make sure they have replace timing chains before.
My advice to you is to get rid off of your Nissan Almera. Keep clear of Nissan Almeras or you'll be replacing the timing chains every year.
I've replaced mine last year, I've got the same problem again now!
Have you reported it to Nissan, watchdog?
It's a common defect but Nissan are refusing to issue a recall.
A simple google search will give you an idea how wide spread this problem is.
Let us know how you got on and good luck.
