Squeaky clio - left rear wheel, what could be wrong?

Hi,

I have a Renault Clio, it has done approx 110,000 miles, and has recently developed a loud squeak from the left rear wheel.

It mostly happens when I'm driving over bumps in the road, but also when it's cold or I stop suddenly. I hope it isn't dangerous to drive!

Any ideas what it could be & how to fix it?

Thanks for any help!!
:)

Hi
I had a astra years ago that had a squeaking coming from one of the front wheels that the garage could'nt solve, it turned out to be a small crack in one off the hub caps that was catching the wind as the wheel rotated causing the squeaking. It could be a long shot but it might be worth trying and you dont need to take it to the garage. Hope this helps.

it sounds like a suspension bush/shockabsorber problem, get someone to have a look under motor and another person to bounce that corner up and down and it may help you pinpoint your problem
