How can I fix my hotpoint dishwasher- ultima micro - model DF42?

What does Error code 10 mean in Hotpoint dishwasher model DF42. Machine stops part way through cycle and displays this E code. Heating element working ok ie -water is hot. Water remains in machine - ie does not drain away after it has stopped.
