How can I fix this whirlpool oven?

Whirlpool built in oven model AKP 511/WH/01 made a funny noise fan was loud when noise like fuse going sounded, oven went dead. When I pressed clock/ timer control it flashed but flickers and no other light or bulb in oven will not work.Oven is now not working fan will not come on, I assume there is power on as clock would not work otherwise, any idea what has happened please.

My whirlpool stove will seem to have power disruption if turning off oven (self cleaning) as the clock will go to zero and flash. Is this an electrical fault that ks dangerous?

This sounds like a similar recurring problem with my AEG oven. In my case it was the Thermal Cut Out burning out (a bit like a fuse). When it happens the oven basically goes dead.

I have fixed this by replacing this Thermal Cut Out (approx 1" long, 1/4" dia blue plastic covered fuse with four wires, each with an electrical connector). If it has 'blown' it will look a though it has burnt the plastic. Make sure you isolate the electricity to the oven first.

It may be different on a Whirpool Oven - but I think AEG and Electrolux are the same company.
