hi, i have a 99 magane and it is stuck in 2nd gear, the light is on in the dash for the box

if the light is on no power is fed to the solenoids this will give third gear. Transmission codes need to be read and possibly a look at live data. The light can be on for many reasons and it's that's why codes need reading
