there is a new inline filter and have taken the fuel cap off and there is no suction could it be my fuel pump relay switch as im running out reasons why my car is doing this as in the summer it was running perfectly as soon as it began to get colder and damp this problem started

there may be something in fuel tank that is floating about and when fuel is being drawn in feed pipe this also could be drawn and blocking pipe off, when engine off and no fuel drawn it just floats away.[had this once on an ldv, and it turned out to be a small piece of crisp packet in tank thought it would have floated on top of fuel but it actually sank to bottom]

Hi George,dont know if you have tried this but your temp.sensor could be at fault which is monitored by an ecu which then dictates how much fuel is delivered into engine ,obviously the colder it is the more fuel required until normal operating temp. is reached,but would try and source one at a scrappy to try,it is very difficult to pinpoint these faults and you could spend loads of money guessing and getting nowhere but good luck anyway
