Kenmore 11128 Freezer chest (40th anniversary year)?

We inherited a freezer from my parents 15 years ago. We used it for a few years, but it has been unused for the last 10 years. I plugged it in earlier this week and ran it for 20 hours. It never got below 58 degrees. Any ideas how to get it cooling properly again?

I can't answer the question, but my 40th anniversary Kenmore 11128 Freezer chest just stopped working. Never had repairs. Worked perfectly. Today is April 25, 2021!!!! I am crying! Just threw out the thawed food. I loved my old freezer.

lost gas or blocked up in pipework.not worth repairing as it will be costly with no guarantee of a fix.time for a new one!
