Is my ECU faulty?

I have an automatic zafira 2.2i elegance. The engine is shutting down at random with no warning lights. It is Ok when idle. Diagnosics have shown no recorded fault codes. Does anyone know if it is the ecu as I have now lost confidence in driving it.
