none of my hot water taps will run any water what can i do

Same prob valve stuck on main cold water tank so lost both cold and hot as cylinder was not being filled on draw off. Local neighbour who's a plumber wanted £50 call out (two doors away).
Fixed it with WD40 when I saw what had happened. His van wouldn't start a week ago and as I'm a car mechanic he knocked and asked what it could be. Ahh!! let me see, with calculator in hand.....£40 call out and £28 per hour + parts. Needless to say he never took up the offer. Things sometimes backfire although I understand he's got to earn a living.

if no water comes out at all then there is an air lock in the pipework. If you have a mixer tap in your property, either on the bath or at the kitchen sink, then put your thumb over the tap head and open the hot valve and then the cold valve, this will force cold water into the cylinder and clear the air lock. Normal service will resume shortly afterwards
