the red light has come on my hotpoint fridge freezer, why?

hi i have a hotpoint fridge freezer and the red light has come on, it is chilling and freezing as before. What is wrong with it?

the red light is on all the time and the freezer is not freezing.???

the red light tends to come on to tell you the temp is not at a safe level.it can still be chilling (frozen) but it might only be at -12 instead of -18 or more
