How can I restore the power to my 25 cc Homelite gas powered weedeater?

My weedeater has lost most of it's power. It still starts and idles fine but when I go to use it, it bogs down. I've also noticed that when I put it on it's highest setting (#3 of 1, 2 or 3) and press the throttle it starts to die. Thanks for you help!

It's likely that you need to clean the flame arrestor that is in the exhaust. I don't have that , but it's usually a screen and a plate on the exhaust that stops flames from shooting out. It gets clogged with Goo from the exhaust and then prevents the engine from being able to operate a full power.
