How can i fix the lever that opens my car bonnet- vauxhall zafira?

everytime I try and open my car bonnet the lever doesnt seem to catch and it wont open.

I snapped my lever once but then tied a cable tie onto the remaining part of it and fed it through the grill. Works a treat now!
