With most VW's you must go from the back of the taillamp usually it is in the trunk, locate the socket and pinch the socket to release the socket so you can turn it counter counter clockwise, and pull out the socket. Any auto parts store will have the bulb, no need to go to the dealership, however the parts man at the dealership might show you how to do it, as him nicely, call on the phone so you don't waste your time. And get his name if he agrees. They will do it here, wiper blades also. Good luck.
