Whirlpool dryer drum does not spin?

My whirlpool dryer turns on, timer works, but now the drum does not spin....I did smell burning rubber the past couple loads.

Sounds like the belt snapped.
To check, remove the front panel, (2 phillips hd screws @ bottom front, then swings up & off), unscrew 2 5/16 hex head
screws @ top corners, lift the top panel & then you'll either see the belt 'round the drum, or no belt at all, which means it snapped & lying on the bottom.
It snapped for a reason- either age or the drum is dragging, possibly due to worn drum roller(s)
