need to find low pressure fuel pump. Renault Megane Scenic 1.9 dCI 51plate?

Got a Renault Megane Scenic 1.9dCi 51plate with common rail system which won't start.
I changed the fuel filter but it won't prime up so I think the low pressure fuel pump is duff.
Got a Haynes manual but it only mentions two options for its location,
1. bulb (squeezey) in engine compartment
2. electric pump on RH side of engine compartment

There is no low pressure fuel pump in either location.
I spoke to Renault dealer technical department, they said it may be either in the fuel tank or under the front RH wing behind the plastic wheel arch liner. I asked if there was a relay for the low pressure fuel pump, the answer was ''yes, but I couln't tell you which one it is''.
Any ideas on locating the relay would be a help so that I can test it.
I found a large brown 70amp fuse in the relay/fuse box blown so I replaced it but still no joy, so I'm thinking that when the illusive low pressure fuel pump croaked its last, it blew the 70amp maxi fuse.

Are new hoses necessary? can you not just cut the crimped part off and secure with jubilee clips?

Found the low pressure fuel pump, it's on the 'chassis rail' above the RH drive shaft, anti-roll bar, steering rack, suspension arm & is really in-accessible. If they had tried a bit harder it would be impossible to access the pump. Whoever designed this car should be made to change this pump until they die!
The wheel arch plastic liners & engine plastic under-tray have to be removed, then the pump can be changed, the fuel hoses are secured with crimped hose clips, so you'll have to use new hoses & jubilee clips etc., the pump is held in a bracket which you have to un-bolt from the chassis, but the suspension , steering rack etc. obscures the pump.
I had the car jacked up with the RH front wheel etc. removed & it took 2 hours grappling to remove & 2 hours or so to refit. The pump cost me £95!!! + £25.50 for a new fuel filter & £3 for the hoses & jubilee clips, never again!!!
After I changed the fuel pump, I noticed sparking above the gearbox area on the engine. I found that one of the uninsulated terminals on the heater valve was shorting out on the oil-soaked engine breather hose which was sagging enough to touch the terminal so it was tracking to earth & melting the hose & creating sparks!!! Setting fire to Renaults seems like a good idea :-)
