Why would overflow valve be spilling water on floor?

The overflow valve on my furnace is spilling large amounts of water on basement floor. What is the reason for this. Could the problem lie in the Aquastat Relay? This is not about an oil filled radiator, it is an oil fired furnace (Becket burner).

if boiler pressure gauge reaches 30 psi it is designed to relieve pressure.most common problem, expansion tank bladder has ruptured or older style tank needs to be drained of water and then valve needs to be opened back up. also feed valve could be allowing to much pressure in.
