can I repair my tire?

I have a 2006 ford explorer xlt nbx. I ran over a piece of metal which is protruding out of my tire. Can I pull the metal and plug the hole? looks to be a round three eights in. diameter rod.

you could try and mend it, but, it would be a lot safer to get it changed for a new one, as repairing a tyre with any size hole makes it more likely to fail, so for safety's sake i would pay out for a new tyre.

hope it helps, December 2010
