how do i fix heater on citroen dispatch?

i have a dispatch van 2003 2.0 hdi.the heater has a mind of its own it comes on when its turned off the blower turns off when its on and most of the time it doesnt come on at all.ive checked the control unit which is fine.help please cant deice the windscreen.
