Hot water constantly on despite timer being set to permanently off?

I have a Potterton Profile boiler....6 years old. Recently had to change the timer. For last two days, the hot water seems to be "on" & water now seems to heat up 24 hours a day despite the timer being switched to off. I can't stop it. does anyone have any suggestions as to cause of this?

Has the system been functioning correctly at all since the timer was fitted? If not, then the timer has possibly been wired up wrong.

If the system has been working correctly since the timer was exchanged and this is a "new" fault, I would suggest looking into a fault with the motorised valve... Possibly a stuck micro-switch.... But check the wiring on the timer first.
