why does my airbag light keep flashing when i'm driving?

why does my airbag light keep flashing when i'm driving. it flashes 4 times, pauses a few seconds then flashes 4 times again then repeats. can it be due to the cold and damp weather weve been having or something else also will it set off the airbag. i appricate any advice thanks from mark w

for the people who gave me help with my question on my airbag light, i thankyou. for the past few days the airbag light has stopped flashing so i think i put it down to the cold and damp weather weve had but ill still keep an eye on it. thanks again

In that case, Ford airbag light flashing four times = fault in seatbelt pre-tensioner or associsated wiring.
As cdc says, check connectors under seat ( may be behind plastic panel on lower outer side of seat. Check passenger side also).
