How can I undo the latch on my Vauxhall Vectra Estate Boot?

The latch has slipped into the closed position with the boot open so I'm unable to put anything in the boot in case it swings open, but it also means that the car is not locked properly when I put central locking on. "R" reg if this makes a difference?
