ok the di tec models are a royal pain they suffer from a fair few problems i would suggest this is a fuelling problem by the way your describing it so try these things:
check the fuel hoses that go from the injector nexst to the spark plug in the middle of the ehad and see if they are leaking or perished you will need to take the panel off to the left of the battery as the fuel pump is up there on the side of the frame if the pipes are perished put new ones on,
also check the two long bolts that bolt the injector body in to the head are tight and also not broken as they have a habit of coming loose or breaking and then it loses fuel pressure and wont run. failing all the take the injector out and put it in a ultrasonic cleaner it may just be blocked up.also i think there is a small air pump thats on the front centre of the crankcases above the barrel and im think from memory its to do with the fuel pump too so check the pipes from that are ok
