when drops to freezing i cant get gears in morning brand new car why ford ?

probably gear change cables frozen,usually if you let engine tick over the heat from the exhaust gradually thaws them out but this motor should be under warranty so would take to main dealer for their diagnosis and replacement of faulty parts
