I have a problem with my AEG Competence oven fan. Is it the thermostat?

I have an AEG Competence 4100 oven. When I turn it on it all works properly for about 20 minutes but both, the fan and heating, stops working after that time. Letting oven cool down for some time it all works ok again till it heats again and so on. It seems that all these occur only if I set the temperature above 160oC approx. It seems to me it is thermostat problem. Is that right? Is there only one thermostat or more? If more that one which one is the problem? Where is it fitted?

if that part is OK to test it refit it and then put the grill on full heat setting and within 10 mins the fan on the top of the oven should start up.If it doesn't then it is the torpedo rubber bit with brown mark that needs replacing

Thanks for your answer. I did remove the front top panel and found this torpedo shaped component you mentioned. If i got it right it's a rubber component that has 2 white and 2 blue wires coming from it. Its colour is light brown but doesn't seem to be burnt. I took off the rubber cover and it seems not to be burnt in the inside (the two white wires connect to two small plates connected to each other and the two blue wires connect to the middle plate). Any clues?

pull the oven out.remove the front top panel behind the fascia panel and look for a torpedo shaped component cable tied in to the wiring loom.it will have 2 white and 2 blue wires coming from it and if it is brown and burnt in the middle of it this is your problem
