Electrolux 6500 SR?

error message looks like an electrical plug - won't run - changed bag - still won't run.
Rocky, December 2010
A lit "plug" light indicates the vacuum is getting power and is not an error. If it doesn't light, then a problem exists.
First, turn dial to the smallest dot. Turn vacuum on. Unless there's another problem (listed below), the vacuum should operate properly.
Second, check the afterfilter on the back of the vacuum. It's located beneath the tool caddy. Press tab on back and lift off the caddy. If the filter is dirty it needs replaced. You can turn the vacuum on without one to check and see if this is the problem.
3. If the above doesn't take care of the problem, detach the hose, drop and coin or marble down one end. If it doesn't roll through, there's a clog in the hose that needs removed. Connect the hose to the exhaust port, place other end in plastic bag and turn on. This should clear any clogs in the hose.
4. If it still doesn't run, detach the hose. Turn the vacuum on. If it continues running, place hand over hole. If it shuts off immediately, the control valve assembly is worn or broken. The vacuum needs to be taken to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for repair.
If none of these work, your vacuum needs to be taken to the afore mentioned shop for trouble-shooting and repair.

For shop nearest you, go to aerusonline.com, click on store locator at bottom of page and follow instructions.
