headphones or speaker?

My Marshall MD30DFX only works with the headphones plugged in.The speaker is working ok because i have tested it and also tried another speaker in it?

I bought headphones from Aldi, the name of the headphones is Altius, when plugged into the TV there is no sound or I can hear another programme. I have tried using the 123 switch under the set but to no avail.
Please advise.
