I have a problem with the power lead ,where it enters the computer?

My Laptop power lead needs to be in a certain position before the taptop recieves any power, ie I have to wriggle the plug around into a suitable position. I guess that where the femail part of theplug is located has become loose on the "Board" . My question is :- is it practical for me to fix it into a permanent connection situation by using epoxy putty to hold it secure?
Thanks in anticipation

no. the heat from the laptop can cause your epoxy to melt, and then you have bigger problems. it would be best to get a new power transformer.

The solder joint on the pcb has cracked ,you will have to strip down the computer and resolder it
