My heater blower only works on number 4 setting,I recently jump started my van Ldv Maxus and numbers 1-2-3 on blower does not work.I have checked fuses but all ok,is there a relay control or sensor fault possibility and where do I locate the sensor.Help required thank you.

LdV Maxus 2007
Heater Resistor and heater fan is located behind glove box.
Remove Glove box
Then there is a black fan unit with 2 wires going to it.
Remove wires by unclipping connector
Remove 1 x screw holding fan motor assembly in place.
Twist unit to unlock
Fan drops out
look in and up behind where fan was and there is resistor its tucked up behind so you have to look right up in.
undo x2 screws (1 each side of it)
and i was able to pull resistor down into cab

We have a Ldv maxu 2005 2.5l
We're getting no blowing from the from the heater/cool air on any setting. And we don't know what to do as we need something for the windscreen as we're constantly on the road in all weather.
Please help with suggestions.

It is located above fan, which you will have to remove and remove glove box and shelf above.
Disconnect plug twist out very stiff, once removed i replaced with a much cheaper ford focus resistor for less than £10 you will need to cut off old connector and replace each wire with a 25 amp spade connector. Tape each connector to insulate each one to get the right colours for right speeds are as follows. Although the focus resistor is of a different shape it will work tape up with electrical tape to avoid any shorting out the resistor side completely, looking at back of resistor as follows you will have two fixing points one at bottom Left one middle right. So wiring top left Purple top right Red/white, Bottom left brown bottom right Red Yellow. Now place resistor back inside hole.


The 25 amp spade connectors purchased from Halfords.

Remove glove box to expose heater motor, disconnect supply and remove single screw at 9 o'clock to the motor (closest to the centre of the motor) rotate assembly approx 20 degrees anti clockwise and pull out motor. Look up inside and u will see a printed circuit board if it looks water damaged remove it by rotation after diconnecting the terminals on the outside of the unit.

there will be a resistor assy which is usually situated near heater ,could be in air flow on heater,,[trace wires back from motor and you will find it.]this is the usual problem on other vehicles.
