Ariston A1436 water problem?

Whenever the water supply to the machine is switched on but the machine is off, water floods into the dispenser and will not stop, causing flooding, unless I isolate the water supply.
Please, any help is appreciated.

The answer to my problem was that due to the severe weather it had frozen and broken the solenoid.Replecement part was around £12.
