The pumps can leak. The leaking water can also blow the motor controller. I just replaced pump and motor controller and both new parts came with a fuse to protect the electronics so obviously a design oversight. If your pump shows signs of leakage don't wait, replace it right away. Mine showed signs of rust and deposits on the outside of the pump. Easy repair.

Either the drain hose or the hose from the pump up to top of the bowl for recirculating the water may have a hole or the drain pump may be leaking. Is it clean water or rusty coloured water. If rusty water & it is noisy on final spin then it will probably be the main seal & bearings need replacing. You will have to tip machine back against a wall and look underneath to track where the water starts from.
