Do I need a new heater element for my Bosch dishwasher?

My dishwasher seems to run OK but after the full cycle it appears to be cold - not hot and steamy as usual after the cycle. Is a heater replacement the answer and is this possible to do by a competent DIY'er?

Put a multimeter on ohms range across the heater terminals and see what the resistance is.Open circuit means you need to replace it
