f & p mw059au not always draining?

Washer does not ALWAYS drain. Will work sometimes - seam to have best luck if turned off at wall for at least 5 minutes but does not always help. Have totally disassembled machine and cleaned thoroughly. Have tried to find fault code but lights don't show - enters diagnostic mode (beeps) but no code. Any thoughts - could the drain pump work on/off like that. Would the control unit work on/off like that.

If you have access to another drain pump (maybe borrow one off a friend with a smartdrive. All models are the same pump) try that pump and see if it makes any difference. If no difference then you probably have a fault in the control module.

Also pump was free to turn and I added oil anyway to be sure

Thanks MK. Yes removed pump and cleaned, also removed cover found inside drum and ensured drain hose is clean. Pump does get hot although problem can happen at first drain after no use for days. Really has me stumped - why it works fine sometimes then doesn't other times. Also forgot to mention - drain hose has been connected to a "grey water" hose to take waste out to garden for years. Have removed extra hose - problem still exists.

Did you remove drain pump & make sure it is clear of any obstruction & is free to turn. If tight it may need some oil. Have you checked if drain pump is overheating? Run pump for 2 - 3 minutes then feel if pump is hot. Should only be slightly warm.
