Although I do not have the same washer as you, I had that same problem with a Kenmore Elite 417.44152400 front load washer. I had an E54 error code that was not listed in the diagnostics, but that range of numbers was related to the motor, so I took off the back of the washer and was planning on testing the motor, and noticed that the entire plug assembly to the motor had come off completely. Probably due to vibration.
Plugged it back and and Shazam!! Worked great. So if possible, try checking plug connections and seeing if they may have vibrated loose or completely off, and save yourself $100 or more in so-called "repairs".

thanks a lot for helping me...
anyway, I like to share my knowledge so... here is my repair tip:
E54 is a relais failure onto the controller board (ewm2000). I found the transparent case relay contacts burned and the driver transistor opened. I dissoldered the ralay, opened and cleaned its plated contacts. The transistor is located under the relais and is a smd darlington. I substituted it with a BC517. Now everithing works correctly.
