Obviously, isolate from the mains before you even start this. Then (from memory):
You will need: A pozidriv No 2 screwdriver and two clothes pegs, bulldog clips or similar
Remove the wire shelves from the oven. Working inside the oven space, remove the four screws holding the back plate in place. This will allow you to take the back plate out.
You'll see the element coiled around the fan. Remove the mounting screws holding the element in place and ease it out. When you disconnect the leads from the element contacts, clip a clothes peg or similar to them to prevent them from slipping through their holes. If they do escape, you'll have to hoik the whole unit out of its place and remove the backplate in order to find them again, which is a drag. Trust me.
Attach the leads to the new element and secure it in place with the mounting screws. fit the back plate again, replace the wire shelves and hook the cooker back up to the mains.
Bake a pie to celebrate. Mmm.
If you can't get it working at all and have to ditch it, can I have first dibs on your top oven door? ;-)
