Hi Adam,

Just to let you know this scooter is now performing again and better than ever it has done.
I took the top off the carb' and discovered I hadn't placed the edge of the diaphragm securely back into into its housing causing the lack of power I mentioned.
Now rectified, the scooter is more powerful and goes through transmission more smoothly than since I first bought it.
Thanks again for the advise from you and bb which sorted the problems and you will be glad to know I popped to the oxfam (as I promised) 'to let them know' its Christmas too. (nowt queer about that is there) oh, and decided to volunteer a couple of days a week too till I get a job. Dogs Bollocks eh.. Pete.

Hi pete,im glad you found the problem i thought it was air flow as its a classic symptom of what you were describing,the air leak at the diaphragm would have stopped the diaprgam from lifting up when the air is drawn up underneath it and therefore not allowing the slide to lift up. bb and myself always try out best to help out as do the other techies.have a happy new year on your fast scooter the dylans are a great scooter and very reliable and economicle as well as being quick for a four stroke.

Thanks again BB. After checking the initial problem of ignition and with 'The General' (Genspeed) in York finding the suppressor cap damaged, both fixing the carb, cleaning filters and sealing the tiny leaks on the manifolds increased performance very noticably.Thanks again for your advice which has put me back on the road again and to you both a genuine Happy new year.
