Brake lights are constantly on. ?

I have 2003 307 1.4 HDI and the brake lights are constantly on when the ignition is turned on. Is this a problem with the switch or is it a wiring harness issue.

i had same prob with my 206 sprayed the swich behind the brake pedal with wd40 and it freed it now works a treat
