WhiteKnight CL797R rotates then stops?

Hi,

When I start my White Knight dryer, the drum rotates for a couple of seconds, then stops (as normal). I can hear what sounds like the water pump running and a relay clicking on and off on the circuit board. It would usually start to spin the other way, but now doesn't!

I've taken the lid off and tried to manually assist (push) the drum to see if the capacitor doesn't have enough charge, but that doesn't start it. After about 50 seconds, the water pump stops (the power light remains on) and all is quiet.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing the drum not to rotate back the other way once its started.

Many Thanks

Nigel.

I solved this problem. I turned the PCB over (which is above the drum) and spotted a dry joint on one of the relays. I cleaned it off and resoldered. Switched it on... and all started working again!!!!

Wow, that was a quick response. Water isn't going into the bottle. I can see it travelling up the pipe, then it stops part way up the pipe (just past the water outlet cap). Sometimes when I try to run it, the dryer does its stop as mentioned and the water bottle full sensor light comes on. I have to take out the water bottle and put it back in again to clear it ( even though the bottle is empty).

I reckon your answer could be right. I don't think its the capacitor as the drum spins no problem on the first start. I don't think its the dryer sensor as that is about 1.5cm carbon left and its making good contact.

How do I get to the base reservoir to check it. Does this mean I need to take the back off and take the drum out?

Thanks.

is water going in to the collection bottle?
A build up of water in the base reservoir could stop the dryer in it's tracks!
