Mercedes Vito 110 clutch knocking?

I have a2002 Vito 110, it has an intermittent heavy knocking noise, happens mostly when holding cliutch halfway down, can anyone help diagnose

you are only loading 2 things when you press you clutch. one is the outer part of your dual mass flywheel, the other is you release bearing. either way, its gearbox out, either or should be easy to spot.
