Lawn mower floods?

I have a Craftman Model 917.255582 12.5 HP Briggs And Stratton model 286707 Type 044101 Code 9210014D

When I start the lawn mower it turns on and runs for about 10 min
then it shuts off and will not start again til the next day
during this time that its running the gas starts liking out at about 3 min and when it shuts off the gas starts comming out of the air filter
the unit gets flooded.
what can i go to fix the problem

I agree with Rick on answer but might try a fuel cleaner and hopefully it maight just be trash or varnish if the mowee has sat up for a period of time ...worth a try

The inlet needle is not sealing up.
You're going to have to tear the carb apart and clean it out.
If the needle or seat are damaged they will need to be replaced. Also check the float to be sure that no fuel has seeped into it. That would also cause the flooding.
