GE washer agitates but won't spin or drain?

MY GE washer (4 yrs old - maybe) agitates but won't spin or drain.... When it reachs the spin cycle it keeps on agitating... Manually moving the timer to spin and turning it back on, there is nothing... No movement... The lid switch is good because the washer stops agitaing when I open the lid...

Got it... Was a big lint/hair ball in the pump... Washing six new towels at once was a bad idea...

Thanks AA & AP for the assist...

Hello,

This sounds like a timer issue if the washer just keeps on agitating through the spin cycle. The timer is responsible for switching the washer over to drain/spin.

How do I check the pump for blockage ??? In back ??? It's hard to move the washer full of water (too the top)... Is there any way to get the water out first ???

have you checked the pump for blockages?
