Indesit is70c making loud rattling/grinding noise?

Our old Indesit is70c has just started making constant rattling/grinding noises when in operation. It's still drying the clothes fine, but is now noisy as hell. The noise appears to change slightly when the dryer changes direction.

Any ideas what would be wrong and if it's worth getting repaired or if it would be easy to repair it myself (I know nothing about electrics)?

I can post a video of the sound it's making if necessary.

yes

Know this is old but may be of use to someone. Same thing happened to my dryer and it needed a new jockey pulley wheel to hold the belt in place.

I have this problem. I think the little wheel type rollers designed to support the front edge of the metal clothes drum are worn and allowing the drum to bounce as it rotates.

I wish someone had answered this as mines is exactly the same it's soo loud!! It seems to b coming from a black cog that the belt goes round but I dnt want to do anythin to it incase it snaps.
