zanussi 1400 essential won't spin?

My washing machine will wash the clothes but it stops before the spin with the start/pause light flashing red and it does not spin the clothes;. Please help what could be the problem

its a bit sticky the fan wheel on it. It's not rotating freely but sticky will only more 1/4 turn with one press. Do you think the pump has gone?

remove the filter at the bottom right and then shine a torch in to the filter housing and make sure the drain pump impeller rotates freely
