gear box problem ford transit t260?

hi. im finding it hard to get it into 2nd and reverse? because it grinds.. just had new selector fitted but problems are still there.. can anybody help me please as the garage do not know what the problem is! thankyou

Can you get the gears without the engine running if you can you have a clutch problem. if it makes no difference the link cables may need adjusting.
