How to change a thermo in a Beko?

Hi, I am a pensioner who has a dead Beko CA5411FFS, have established that thermostat never closes. Have a new one. Can anyone tell me (a). How to fit it? In particular the sensor tube? (b). How can I tell if the fan in the freezer is working?

Many thanks for any help

does the thermostat tube go down a hole in the side of the fridge cabinet?.Usually they just pull out and the new one pushes back in until it hits the stop

If I have the thermostat connected the light comes on, If I disconnect the supply to the thermostat, ie, the red and brown leads from the joint box on the compressor, then no light comes on as there is no supply to it. I am convinced that I have proved that the thermostat section between pins 3 and 4 never closes. The contact between pin 3 (the lamp) and 6 is OK. If I short out The red and brown the compressor runs after making sure the defrost timer is possitive. My problem is how to istall the tube on the new thermostat.

the only thing I was thinking is at the side of the compressor to the left is a defrost heater timer on some models.if you flick the round blanking cap off and rotate the defrost timer shaft with a flat bladed screwdriver they sometimes click and the compressor starts.if it does click and start it could be a faulty defrost timer in that plastic housing???

The light comes on, but no matter where the stat is set there is no return supply down to the compressor. I shorted out the supply and return to the stat at the JB on the compressor and the compressor ran OK.

is the whole thing dead or does the light come on but no compressor running?
